VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO VENTURA AT HOME
SANTA MARIA-- After squandering a big lead in game one, the Allan Hancock College women's volleyball team dropped a three-game Western State Conference match to first place Ventura, 30-26, 30-22, 30-26.
Hancock (8-6, 2-2 WSC North) held a 19-11 advantage in game one before Ventura mounted a comeback. All three games were close, as AHC defended well throughout. Brittni Fink (So., Arroyo Grande HS) had 22 digs to lead the way. Cassie Young (So., Arroyo Grande) and Alyssa Giorgi (So., Coastal Christian) each added nine. Cristini Saenz (So., Santa Maria HS) scored five blocks on the night to lead the Bulldogs.
Geraldine Misa'alefua (So., American Samoa) made 10 kills with Giorgi and Young contributing eight each.
Hancock continues it's homestand with two games at the Joe White Memorial Gymnasium next week. They will host Santa Barbara on Tuesday, Nov. 1 before greeting Cuesta on Friday, Nov. 4. Both matches will begin at 7:00 p.m.
