WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS GLENDALE
GLENDALE-- The Allan Hancock College women's volleyball team traveled to Glendale and swept by the Vaqueros in three games, 30-25, 30-18, 30-25, in a Western State Conference cross-over match.
Hancock (5-4) rolled to victory with a balanced attack. Malissa L'Esperance (Fr., Arroyo Grande HS) led the team with eight kills. Cassie Young (So., Arroyo Grande) and Geraldine Misa'alefua (So., American Samoa) each added seven kills. Jessica Quandt (So., Valley Christian) scored 26 assists in the game.
Defensively, L'Espenance scored 14 digs, while Young added seven. Allison Patton (So., St. Joseph HS) had five blocks in the match.
The Bulldogs had much success serving the ball on the night. Casey Rainwater (Fr., Florence, OR) served six aces with Brittni Fink (So., Arroyo Grande) adding three.
AHC finishes off their non-league schedule on Friday, Oct. 14, when they host Bakersfield at 7:00 p.m. Bakersfield ended a Hancock three game winning streak on Sept. 30, defeating the Bulldogs in a close three game match, 30-27, 30-26, 30-24.
