VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS WEST HILLS IN HOME OPENER
SANTA MARIA-- The Allan Hancock College women's volleyball team won their home opener, sweeping by West Hills, 30-10, 30-12, 30-17, at the Joe White Memorial Gymnasium.
Hancock (1-1) built early leads in the first two games of the match and cruised to easy wins. AHC served well throughout the match. The team was led by Brittni Fink (So., Arroyo Grande HS) who served six aces and Cassie Young (So., Arroyo Grande) who scored four. The team totaled 24 aces on the night.
Geraldine Misaalefua (So., American Samoa) led a balanced attack with seven kills. Allison Patton (So., St. Joseph) and Young added four each. Jessica Quandt (So., Valley Christian) scored 14 assists. On defense, Fink had over half the team digs with 17.
The Bulldogs hit the road for the rest of the month, starting at the Santa Ana Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 17, before returning home on Friday, Oct. 7 when they host Citrus College.
