WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL DROPS HOME FINALE
SANTA MARIA-- In the final home game of the regular season, the Allan Hancock College women's volleyball team was swept by Moorpark, 30-25, 30-26, 30-23, at the Joe White Memorial Gymnasium.
Hancock (10-8, 4-4 WSC North) fell behind, 8-1 in game one and battled back to within 15-17, but could not catch the Raiders. Everytime AHC would make a short run, Moorpark would answer back with one of their own. In game two, the Bulldogs tied the score at eight, then the Raiders put together a six point run to take control. Hancock took it's first lead of the night, 7-6, in game three and led 8-7, but Moorpark re-took the lead at 9-8 and were never caught again.
Geraldine Misa'alefua (So., American Samoa) once again led AHC in kills with 19. Alyssa Giorgi (So., Coastal Christian) added nine and Cassie Young (So., Arroyo Grande HS) scored six. Cristina Saenz (So., Santa Maria HS) led the team in blocks with seven, five of which were solo blocks. Brittni Fink (So., Arroyo Grande) had 24 digs and Jessica Quandt (So., Valley Christian) scored 34 assists.
The Bulldogs will end the season with two road matches next week. On Tuesday, Nov. 15 they will play at Ventura, then end the season at Santa Barbara on Friday, Nov. 18. Both matches will begin at 7:00 p.m.
