Hancock Softball Rises to No. 12 in State Poll
Riding a 17-game winning streak, the Allan Hancock College softball team is opening eyes around the state. The Bulldogs are ranked No. 12 in the latest California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association (3CFCA) State Poll that was released on Wednesday. Hancock also climbed three spots to sixth in the Southern California Regional Poll. Both rankings are the program's highest in each poll in at least 15 years.
The Bulldogs swept a doubleheader against Cuesta on Tuesday to improve to 7-0 in Western State Conference play and 19-2-1 overall. Hancock hosts Oxnard in a conference game at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 26 before playing four games at a weekend tournament hosted by Ventura College. Saturday, March 28, Hancock will play two ranked teams starting with Cypress at 9 a.m. and Cerritos at 11:30 a.m. Cypress (19-4) is ranked second in the SoCal Region and third in the state, while Cerritos (15-9) is ranked ninth in this week's SoCal Regional Poll. Then on Sunday, Hancock faces Porterville (13-10) at 10:45 a.m. and Glendale (12-9) at 3 p.m.
