SOFTBALL DROPS INTERCONFERENCE GAME AT CITRUS
GLENDORA - The Allan Hancock College women's softball team ran into a hot pitcher and dropped a Western State Conference crossover game, 7-0, to Citrus College on Thursday.
Hancock (2-9) had trouble against Citrus pitcher Michelle Morlet, who allowed just two hits. Stacey Davis (Fr., Santa Maria HS) and Regina Garza (Fr., Valley Christian Academy) had the only hits for the Bulldogs.
Citrus held a 1-0 lead into the bottom of fourth, when it exploded for five runs to put the game out of reach. Angela Martinez (Fr., Santa Maria) went the distance for AHC, allowing only six hits.
The Bulldogs will play this weekend at Grossmont College in El Cajon, beginning with San Diego Mesa on Saturday at noon. AHC will follow with a 2 p.m. start against Grossmont.
