John Gutierrez Tabbed as 5CTCA SoCal Men's Runner of the Week

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Allan Hancock College cross country standout, John Gutierrez, has been named as the 5CTCA Southern California Men's Runner of the Week. | ORIGINAL RELEASE

At the most recent event, Gutierrez recorded the third fastest time on the men's side for all 3C2A athletes that competed at the UC Riverside Invitational race. He turned in a final time of 25:04 in the Open Men's 8k while placing 87th overall through the field of 517 competitors. 

The weekly accolade adds to an already successful start to the fall season for the sophomore out of Santa Maria. Gutierrez opened the 2025 campaign with a pair of individual wins at the Tour de Cuesta and the Bulldogs Invitational. He was also the runner-up finisher at the WSC Preview in September. 

Gutierrez and the Bulldogs will be back in action on Friday, October 3rd, at the Bakersfield Invite at the Kern County Soccer Park.
