SEVERAL FOOTBALL PLAYERS COMMIT TO FOUR-YEAR SCHOOLS
SANTA MARIA-- Allan Hancock College football coach Kris Dutra announced that several Bulldogs have signed letters of intent to continue their education and football careers.
All are mid-year transfers and are already on their new campuses.
Tight end Kyle Pollock (Arroyo Grande HS) has moved on to Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan. The campus is located 40 miles west of Detroit. The Eagles are members of the Mid-American Conference. Coached by Jeff Genyk, Eastern Michigan was 4-8 overall and 3-2 in their division.
Luke Conley, a center (Righetti HS) will attend Arizona State in Tempe, Arizona. The Wildcats, under Dennis Erickson were 10-3 in 2006 and played as the PAC - 10 representative against Texas in the Holiday Bowl.
Fullback Jude Deras (Righetti HS) is at Bethel College in McKenzie, Tennessee. The NAIA Wildcats compete in the Mid-South Conference and were 11-2 this past season. Bethel advanded to the NAIA quarterfinals.
Defensive back and long snapper Ryan Head (San Luis Obispo HS) will compete for head coach John Zamberlin at Idaho State in Pocatello, Idaho. The 1-AA team is in the Big Sky Conference and will play Cal Poly again in 2008.
Chad Simpson, a defensive back from Righetti High, is currently at Mesa State in Grand Junction, Colorado. A Division II powerhouse, the Mavericks, under coach Joe Ramunno, won the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Mesa State (10-2) advanced to the NCAA playoffs.
As previously announced quarterback Casey Cathcart is already attending the University of Arkansas - Monticello.
