Bio
A second-year assistant coach, Ellis is the newest member of the Hancock baseball coaching staff. The Buellton native played at Hancock under head coach Chris Stevens. He was a two-time All-Western STate Conference selection and two-time Gold Glove winner at first base for the Bulldogs.
In 2009, Ellis hit .312 and led the Bulldogs with 39 RBI and a .425 on-base percentage.
He transferred to Cal State East Bay where he played 15 games in 2011 for the Division II program. he went on to play at Oklahoma Baptist University in 2012. He hit .256 with a .356 on-base percentage that won the Sooner Athletic Conference and qualified for the NAIA postseason.
Ellis graduated from Santa Ynez High School. He was named the Pirates' MVP his senior year.
