NEXT LEVEL: Trent Martin Commits to Warner University
LAKE WALES, Fla. - Allan Hancock College designated hitter/catcher, Trent Martin, has committed to continuing his academic and athletic career at Warner University next season.
"I chose Warner University because it felt like the right fit for me, both on and off the field," Martin shared. "The coaching staff believed in me from the beginning, and I know they'll help me continue to grow as a player and as a person. I'm excted for the opportunity to compete, earn my degree, and be part of a program that is committed to winning."
Martin, a transfer from Bakersfield, wrapped up his lone season with the Bulldogs - and second overall at the junior college level - in May. He earned a First Team All-Conference nod for the Western State Conference (North) list in the lone DH slot. Martin closed the season with a .293 batting average while recording 22 RBIs on 36 hits, which included eight doubles and one homer.
"My time at Allan Hancock helped me grow in every aspect of the game. It taught me how to compete every day, stay disciplined, and handle the challenges that come with college baseball," Martin added. "I'm thankful to my coaches and teammates for pushing me to become a better player and person. I know that those experiences have prepared me for the next level."
The Royals are a member of the NAIA and compete in the Sun Conference.
