Baseball's Braden Oliver Named to ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove List
GREENSBORO, N.C. - Allan Hancock College outfielder, Braden Oliver, added another impressive award to his resume after a stellar season with the Bulldogs after being named as an ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove recipient for the Pacific Association Division.
Oliver, a native of Las Vegas, is one of three outfielders on the nine-member squad and the lone Western State Conference (North) representative. The sophomore produced a nearly spotless fielding record after handling 122 of 125 defensive chances cleanly while aiding in two double plays. Oliver was also selected to receive the Western State Conference Gold Glove designation in April.
The ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Teams are selected in nine divisions, with all honorees receiving a Rawlings Gold Glove similar to those awarded to Major League players. This award, which was founded in 2007, is chosen by the ABCA All-America Committee for each Division. Oliver becomes just the sixth athlete on record to receive the honor for the AHC baseball program. Other former Bulldogs to make the list include Tommy Kendlinger (2023| OF), Jacob Steels (2022 | OF), Jacob Ruley (2021 | OF), Ryan Peinado (2017 | 3B), and Chris Mallory (2010 | 2B).
