Hancock Outfielder Colby Barrick Named Preseason All-American
Allan Hancock College baseball player Colby Barrick has been named to the 2016 Southern California Preseason All-American Team. The sophomore was an All-Conference First Team pick his freshman year for Allan Hancock College. He also received a Gold Glove from the conference for his defensive prowess in the outfield.
The Santa Ynez High School graduate led the team with 23 runs scored, four triples and 18 walks. The left-handed hitter finished with a .317 batting average, 39 hits, 15 RBI and .433 on-base percentage. Barrick recorded two or more hits in 10 games for the Bulldogs, including three three-hit games.
The Bulldogs are ranked No. 15 in the Southern California Preseason California Community College Baseball Coaches Association Poll. Hancock finished 13-23 during the 2015 season. This spring, they return five players, including Barrick, who received All-Conference accolades last year.
Hancock opens the 2016 season at Bakersfield College on Saturday, January 30, 2016. First pitch will be at noon. The Bulldogs host West Hills-Coalinga on Tuesday, February 2, at 2 p.m.
