BASEBALL PITCHER JANNIS NAMED ALL-SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
SANTA MARIA-- Allan Hancock College baseball relief pitcher Mickey Jannis has been named to the All-Southern California team in voting by the coaches.
Jannis (So., Arroyo Grande HS) was one of only two relievers to be named to the team. The coaches voted during their annual meetings at the state championships in Fresno.
Jannis had three wins and seven saves with a 3.29 ERA. He had 79 strikeouts in just 68.1 innings pitched. Primarily a closer, Jannis had several extra inning efforts, where he went more than five innings.
Along with Bulldog teammate Sam Jones, Jannis will attend CS Bakersfield next year as the school makes the move to Division I status. Before that, he will spend the summer season pitching for the Santa Maria Valley Packers at John Osborne Field on the Hancock campus.
